Psychotherapy– This therapy focuses on helping the client to recognize mental states her own thoughts and feelings, as well as the thoughts and feelings of others she communicates with. Through recognition, she is then able to see how these thoughts contribute to her behavior or the behavior of others.

Arts based therapy(roleplays and dramas)- Art therapy has shown benefits for people with borderline personality disorder and borderline personality traits by alleviating interpersonal difficulties such as affect regulation, an unstable sense of self, self-injurious behaviors, and suicidal ideation.

Psychiatry– Good psychiatric management includes individual therapy once a week, psychoeducation about borderline personality disorder and treatment goals and expectations, and sometimes drugs. It focuses on the patient’s reactions to interpersonal stressors in everyday life. Supportive psychotherapy is also useful.
